Our hero escapes the evil wizard. How? You need to show us how the hero escapes.

Ken lied to his friend. Why? Why would a person lie to a friend . . .what’s going on?

Use how and why to move straight to what you need to explain, describe, discuss, emphasize, demonstrate, or prove. Make asking yourself how and why a new good writing habit!
